Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the
heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before
the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined
us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and
will — to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he
loves.
Gracious God and Heavenly Father,
We owe you our wholehearted devotion for electing us to your salvation through your son our Lord Jesus Christ. It is only through his sacrifice on our behalf that we can be seen as blameless in your sight, for it is his righteousness imputed to us when he died for our sins that makes possible our reconciliation with you. We marvel at your plan for our election and redemption, conceived even before the world was created, to unite us to Christ through faith alone and to adopt us into your family. May we live out our lives with a spirit of gratitude and in cheerful service for this gracious gift of life and love.
