Prayer Corner: Week of March 6th

Prayer Corner: Week of March 6th

Message: Don’t take even the simplest things for granted—appreciate them and gives thanks.

Scripture: We are bound to give thanks. (2 Thessalonians 2:13)

Well here we are in March. It seems to have come quickly. We can look forward to the Lenten season and the coming of spring. Do you ever think of memories of the past and times you celebrated Easter with family. Some of us don’t have our parents and maybe even siblings have passed. Still I thank God for the wonderful memories.

 “What tomorrow may bring”

God has given us a memory, that we may look back. It would be well if we used our memories better, to remember, reflect and repent. God has not given us eyes to pry
Into the future. He unveils the past for our penitence, but He veils the future from our curiosity.

Dark days may be near at hand for some of us, but we don’t perceive them. Let us be thankful that we do not, for our afflictions would be multiplied at the foresight
Of them. The prospect of evil to come might cast a gloom over pleasure near at hand. As we may feel a thousand deaths in fearing one, so we may faint under a single
Stroke in dreading a thousand.

It is good that God conceals our earthly joys until the time of their arrival. Great prosperity may await you, but you do not know it. It is just as well, for you might be none The better for the prospect. Earth’s goods are like glue; they are apt to hold us to things below and prevent us from soaring toward heaven. If, then, we could know all the Pleasurable events that may happen, we might become more worldly and more earthbound than we are. None of us should desire that this present  evil world should
Have and increased influence over us. We are glad that it should have less. Thus, we rejoice that it’s future has such slight power over us because that future is
unknown.

My message to all is to love one another as yourselves. Pray for this world and all the leaders for Godly wisdom.
