Psalm 22:24, For he has not despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.
God’s Attentiveness
God is so great and mighty that all things are little to Him. To us, the worlds are so enormous that we can’t estimate their size. We look in the sky and see all the stars, so many, we cannot count them. To God it is a drop in the bucket. All things are little to Him, it follows that nothing is more than little to God.
If divine observation and care is extended to creatures, then it must be given to the insignificant and weak. You wonder why? Well when compared with Him everything is insignificant and weak.
Looking at creation gives us proof that the Lord considers the lesser things. God displays His magnificence in everything. The tiniest of creatures play in a single drop of water, and in each drop omnipotence is seen. Each of these tiny creatures can be seen with a microscope God finds food and puts life-force in every part of their organization. God sees to everything that concerns a gnat or fly as surely as He watches over seraphim and cherubim. He guards the earth’s worms and the brook’s minnows.
Now, think, if He does does this, He will deal tenderly with you, for He will despise none that seek Him. He who takes care of gnats and flies will hear your prayers.
We go through difficulties in our lives. Deep waters, pain, bereavement and anguish at some time. At times loved ones or friends have forsaken us—but not God. He will hear the prayer of the humble heart. God will never forsake you. He is near in our distress. God is love and He loves us.
Wow, this Psalm is so inspiring. We as Christians and children of God can hold this blessed assurance close to our hearts.
