Praying the Scriptures: Colossians 3:12-14

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with
compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and
forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord
forgave you And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in
perfect unity.

Gracious God and Heavenly Father,

We owe you everything. You are the giver of every good gift that we enjoy. You give us life and hope and you promise us a glorious life to come. How do we repay your gracious love for us? Let us thank you every day in prayer and in the way that we live. Help us to shine with the compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience of Jesus. You have been so patient with us. You have forgiven our sins, and we need to be slow to take offence and quick to forgive others. This does not come easily to us. We pray for an ever maturing faith and an increase in humility. Above all, let our lives reflect the love of Jesus, which is compassionate, kind, humble, gentle and patient, for the benefit of our neighbour and for your glory.

In Christ’s name. AMEN.
