Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought
back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with
everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him,
through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Father God,
You are indeed a God of peace and also holiness, goodness, justice and mercy. There is no one like you. Your plan of salvation for lost sinners is so remarkable and beautiful. Jesus, your dear Son, is indeed our Shepherd. Just as a shepherd cares for his sheep and seeks the lost ones, he loves us and takes care of us; he laid down his very life for us. Our Lord Jesus was crucified for our sakes and was buried, but you vindicated him and raised him from the dead to reign with you. We want to serve you and to please you in thanksgiving for this gift of salvation and so we ask you, Father, for everything we need to do your will and to walk in the way of your precious Son, for your glory and in his holy name.
