Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)
March 3 2026
Text: 2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
All around chaos is erupting. War and conflict. Political infighting. Violence on the streets. Economic crisis. Anger and rage are out of control. Crime is spreading and the times are desperate. People are increasingly fearful.
However, Christians do not have to buy into the fear. There may be an initial spark of fear, but we don’t stay there. As the text reminds us, God doesn’t give us fear. Instead, He gives us what we need to overcome the fear – power, love and self- control. The Lord is our provider and has made all provisions for us to walk in victory.
Notice the three things we have – power, love and self-control. Those three things are things that are inside of us. It is the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit that is the power that enables us to walk in peace and assurance. But there’s more. In 1 John 4:18, we are reminded that perfect love drives out fear. And that perfect love that dwells in us is the love of Christ. There is nothing on this great earth that can separate us from the love of Christ (Romans 8:38).
No matter what is going on in the world, nothing has caught the Lord off guard. He is aware, He is in control and because of that, we can walk with confidence in the Lord. Furthermore, because He is the Prince of Peace, His peace guards our heart and gives us the boldness to keep walking by faith.
Do not be controlled by the temporary circumstances around you. Rather, be controlled by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, regardless of what is goibg to happen today, I chose not to be fearful but rather confident. Confident in your goodness, grace and glory. I submit all that I am to you, so that your power and love manifests in my that I walk in victory. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
