Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)
March 18 2026
Text: Colossians 3:12
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
The essential Good News is the fact that Jesus was crucified for our sins, so that we could be forgiven and He was raised for the assurance of new life and eternal life in Him.
However, Colossians gives us some more incredible about this Good News. Colossians 3:3 says that we are hidden in Christ. This means that as believers we are united together in Christ and the Lord expects us to live in a ways that reflects that we belong to Him. This is why it says in 3:11 – Christ is all, and is in all. “Therefore…we should clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”
We should always see Christ in our brothers and sisters. When we can do that, we will treat them right. And when that happens, the message of Christ will rule in our hearts (verse 16). That way everything will be done to His glory and to our benefit.
This life we have together in Christ is our greatest challenge because oftentimes we get caught up in our personal relationship with Jesus that we forget about the body of Christ.
As we start this day, may we not forget about our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, as I go about this day, may I be ever mindful of my brothers and sisters in Christ and may I reflect Jesus to them as they reflect Jesus to me. Jesus be glorified in all of us by the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
