Daily Light Devotional: Your light is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

Text: 2 Corinthians 5:18-20
“All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”
We know that Jesus has commanded us to make disciples. And we know that the Holy Spirit will help us. But we need to understand that this is all part of God’s ministry of reconciliation. We have been reconciled to God through Christ, and now we have the same ministry.
It says that God has committed to us the message of reconciliation. That is the message of salvation through Christ on the cross – the only way one can be saved. In addition to that we have been name as His ambassadors. This means that we represent Him in Christ and in Christ we have the privilege and authority to carry out our assignment.
All we have to do is make the decision to obey the Lord in carrying out His assignment, the Holy Spirit will help us with the message and make people reconciled to Christ.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit, through whom I am born again, have become a new creation and empowered as an ambassador to tell others about Jesus. Holy Spirit help me to do all that today, In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
