Daily Light: May 11th

Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

May 11, 2026

Text: Psalm 34:3

“Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!”

This morning I was remembering as a child using the magnifying glass. No, not to torture bugs or burn paper with the sunlight, but to make things really BIG and see the details. For example, you could magnify the face of an insect to see incredible details. And that reminded me of the verse from Psalm 34:3 – “Magnify the Lord with me!” The word “magnify” means to make BIG; to make larger than life. It also means “to do great things”, which is what the New Living Translation emphasizes by reading – “tell of the Lord’s greatness”.

It is interesting to know that Jesus Christ dwells within us, and He wants to be magnified in and through us. Which means that He want to be so BIG in our lives, that we cannot contain Him, but instead He breaks out of our life  with His light; the love of Jesus overflows through our limitations so that the world knows we belong to Him. Furthermore, when He is magnified in and through us, we will begin to tell everyone of His greatness and His mighty works.

So, as you begin this new day, let the Lord be magnified in you so that the world around you might see the light of Jesus and want to know Him.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for indwelling me. As I walk through this day, be magnified in med; be larger than me; flow through me so that you are larger than me and larger than life. Be glorified in and through me today. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
