Daily Light: August 3rd

Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a Lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

August 3, 2026

Text: Psalm 119:21

You rebuke the insolent, accursed ones, who wander from your commandments.

The Bible says that the Father disciplines His children when they go astray (Hebrews 12:6). He often disciplines His children with His Word, that is like a sword that penetrates the heart (Hebrews 4:12). In this text we are reminded that if stray from His commands (His Word) he will rebuke us (chastise, discipline) because we have become insolent (disrespectful etc.).

This is why it is so important to be in the Word daily, so we don’t wander off and put ourselves in the place of rebuke and chastisement.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, keep me in your Word that I might follow your way daily. Have mercy when I don’t but discipline me so that I return to your Word and stay grounded in your will. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
