Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

Text: Psalm 119:22
Remove from me their scorn and contempt, for I keep your statutes.
One of the things that many Christians believe is that because they are Christ followers, nothing bad is going to happen to them. This is not true. The reality is that Christians are going to experience challenges and tough times, which includes negativity from non-believers. Our text for today reminds us that while we may encounter scorn and contempt from the haters of God.
The actions of these people can have minimal effect. How? By being in the Word of God. By remembering the promises of God – that He is always with us and will always guide us and protect us, keeps us in a place where nothing can phase us or rock us. Remember, when we build our lives on the teachings of Jesus and the Word of God, we are the wise builder who have built our lives on a solid foundation that can withstand all storms.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, keep me ground and established in your Word, so that what ever scorn and contempt might be thrown at me will just roll off my back. May you be glorified in and through me today. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
