Daily Light (3)

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path”. (Psalm 119:105)

Today’s Text: Psalm 119:105

Wednesday February 11 2026

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

This verse is about the “Word” and it is making two comments about the word. First, this verse uses a container to describe it – it’s a lamp. A lamp for my feet. Not only is the Word as “lamp”, it is also the light that shines from the lamp and unto the path that my feet are walking upon.

This provides an excellent image for the Word of God, the Bible. The Bible is a container, that contains all the wisdom of God. It is His law in how we should live. Furthermore, from the Bible will shine light that will give us wisdom, discernment and application for specific situations.

The only way a lamp  can work is when the wick is lit. The same principle applies to the Bible. The light cannot shine from the Word if we are not reading the Word, memorizing the word or digesting the Word.

When we light the lamp, we will:

✓ Be able to follow His righteous laws

✓ Be protected

✓ Be taught the law by the Lord

✓ Praise the Lord continuously

✓ His joy will be in our hearts

This is why it is so important to be in the Word, so that all the blessings would flow from Him to us. When Jesus taught the “Lord’s prayer”, He instructed the disciples to pray – “give us this day our daily bread”. I wonder if this daily bread is the daily light that we need to walk in peace and victory everyday. The next time you open your Bible (the Lamp) ask the Lord to give a a Biblical passage that would shine into any situation you might be situation. Let that scripture be the light for your path today. Be encouraged by the Light.

Heavenly Father, as I delve into you Word today, shine the light from your Word into all the situations I am going to be facing today. In you I will walk with cofifence, and in all things glorify you. In Jesus’ name I pray.
