Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp onto my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)
March 16 2026
Text: Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who We love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
God is always faithful. That is a statement that we can declare as true. But here’s a question: what is He faithful to? We know He is faithful to His eternal Covenant in Jesus. And that is eternally true. However, in our text for today, Paul states that God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called to His purpose. At first glance, we might make the incorrect assumption that in a general way His is just looking after us, watching out for us; and that is most likely true. But this verse is not about being general. God is faithful to doing the good work in our life that would fulfil the purpose for which we were created. Ephesians 2:10 states:” For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
It is clear that the work that the Lord wants to do in our life has nothing to do with what we want to do but has everything to do with what He has determined for us to do. This is His will for us. God is faithful to His plan and purpose and nothing will stop it. Our task is to simply yield and submit to His greater work, His great purpose.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, as this day unfolds, I submit and surrender to all that you would do in my life that will fulfill your purpose for my life. Be glorified by all that you do through me. In Jesus’ name I pray.
