Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)
March 2 2026
Text: Psalm 33:10
The Lord foils the plans of the nations; He thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
Take a look around you. What do you hear and see? Nothing but crisis and chaos. Russia and Ukraine, the United States and Iran, Azerbaijan and Armenia, Isreal and Hamas, ISIS and everybody. The list is endless. And on top of that there is political and economic crisis. People and nations, governments and leaders jockeying for position. Everyone running their own agenda and fighting for their strategies to work. It can be overwhelming all the chaos and uncertainty that is erupting.
But as the people of God, we can be comforted by today’s verse from Psalm 33:10 – “The Lord foils the plans of the nations”. As much as the world players want to have their say and play their games, the Lord Himself is the only one who is going to get His way. He is able to foil and disrupt the plans of those in the world. Moreover, the verse goes on to say – “He thwarts the plans of the people”. That is you and me. Sometimes in our anxiety and stress, we try to take care of things ourselves. That it no different than the nations who want tot do what they want. Whether its government leaders of nations, or us as individuals – we are not going to have our way. If our agenda is contrary God’s will, He will shut it down.
As our day begins, even in the midst of worldwide crisis and chaos, let us ever be mindful that the Lord is sovereign over everything and let our prayer be” “Your will be done (in me and around me) on earth as it is in heaven.” And may the joy of knowing the Lord rules in and through and over all things, be yours today.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, as I go out today into this world of madness, I submit my path to you and may I fix my eyes on you, trusting you that in all things you are accomplishing your purpose, I go out with joy. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
