Praying the Scriptures: Habakkuk 3:2

LORD, I have heard of your fame;
I stand in awe of your deeds, LORD.
Repeat them in our day,
in our time make them known;
in wrath remember mercy.

Dear LORD and Heavenly Father,

You are the creator and sustainer of all life. You have provided us with this beautiful world with all its bounty. You have chosen a people for yourself and have protected a faithful remnant against its enemies and all trials throughout the ages. You give us our daily bread, all that we need. You keep all your promises and will not abandon us. You have revealed yourself in your creation and through your Word and through your mighty and miraculous deeds. We remember the plagues of Egypt, the parting of the Red Sea, how you preserved Daniel in the lions’ den and Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace. You have provided a way of salvation through your Son Jesus, who raised Lazarus from the dead and demonstrated his deity through countless other miracles. It is through his atoning sacrifice on the cross that we who believe in him are forgiven and will inherit eternal life.

LORD we are in awe of all you have done for us. Father, we pray that you would continue to perform mighty deeds, that your Spirit would open the minds and hearts of many more, that they would turn from their sins and live in a new way that brings you the glory, honour and praise that you alone deserve. LORD, have mercy.

We ask this in Jesus’ name.

AMEN.
