Who is a God like you, who pardons sin
and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance?
You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.
Gracious God and Heavenly Father,
Thank you for loving us, for your compassion towards us and for the peace you give us. We are mindful of our sins and how we are so undeserving of the forgiveness that we receive when we confess and repent. We deserve your judgement but you delight in showing your mercy to us. Let us never forget the terrible cost that Jesus paid so that we might be forgiven. He humbled himself to live among us, he was slandered, betrayed, abandoned, scourged and killed, all so that he might take our sins upon himself and in exchange clothe us with his righteousness. This is such a wonderful, astounding, amazing grace afforded to all who believe and confess the name of Jesus.
