Daily Light: July 15th

Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

July 15, 2026

Text: Psalm 119:8

I will keep your statutes; do not utterly forsake me!

Words and actions must work together to make a difference. If a father keeps telling his son that they are going to go to a ball game, but it never happens, the son won’t believe him and will eventually do something else with somebody else.

The same can happen with the Lord. When we are not grounded in His Word, it tells the Lord that we are not interested in Him. And that brings the risk of the relationship fading. However, by being committed to the Word of God, we are communicating by our action (being in the Word) that we are very interested in the Lord and He will not forsake or abandon us and the relationship between us becomes stronger.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, as I am in the living Word, and in the written Word, I rejoice that our life together becomes stronger and more gratifying. Thank you for that truth. Be glorified in and through me today. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
