Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

Text: Psalm 119:14
In the way of your testimonies I delight as much as in all riches.
In this verse “testimonies” refers to the things that God has spoken as “truth” – as one would give a testimony in court. God’s Word testifies to His character as well has His actions, and His direction. By adding “the way” of your testimonies, the Psalmist is recognizing that the ways of God, the direction that He has laid out it greater than all the riches that he could accumulate. For the Psalmist this brings him great delight.
For many Church goers the Word of God is boring and quite a chore. But to those who are born again, the Word of God is delightful, brings joy and is more valuable than any amount of gold or silver.
Do you delight in the Word of the Lord?
Prayer: Father God, thank you for the joy I have in reading your Word and in applying your directions to my life. May you be glorified in me as I read and submit to your Word today. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
