Text: Psalm 119:23
Though rulers sit together and slander me, your servant will meditate on your decrees.
Many are the people who will scrutinize and criticize the Christians. We are under much observation and will have much slander thrown our way. Our text makes it clear that our first priority in the situation is to continue reading and meditating on the Word of God.
Recall Daniel. His colleagues in the Babylonian administration were constantly watching him. And when steps came to entrap him with his devotion to the Lord by having him cast into the lions, God protected him. And inspite of the slander of these accusers, Daniel continued to pray and meditate on God. We must do the same. When negativity comes your way because of your life in Christ, meditate on the decrees of God.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, the world my slander me and come against me, yet will I meditate on your statutes and decrees because they give me courage to endure all things. Be glorified in and through me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
