Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

Text: Psalm 119:24
Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors.
The last few days we have seen how the Psalmist had been challenged by ruler’s slander, the scorn and contempt of the world, and the negativity of the wicked – the writer makes a glorious statement – “Your statutes are my delight! They are my counselors”.
What the Psalmist has discover is that the more he knows the Word of God, the more He knows the Lord. The more He knows the Lord, the more joy, delight and wisdom he will discover. And this is what sets Christians apart from the unrighteous – we know the joy of the Lord because it is in the Word.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I rejoice that in your Word I know joy, and in your Word I know your wisdom and that increases my joy. Thank you. As I commit myself to your Word, let your joy over flow in me like a river of joy. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
