Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

Text: Psalm 119:45
I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.
When we were born again in Christ, our Lord and Saviour, we were set free from the law of sin and death. The Good News of Jesus paying our sin debt in full, meant that we were no longer slaves to sin (Romans 6:6, 14). We are free. That freedom, however, does not give us license to do what ever we want. Rather, the Holy Spirit indwells us so that we might live in obedience to Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit makes that possible. The Holy Spirit enables obedience as He enables us to seek the Word, eat the Word and digest the Word. The Word of God keeps us in the freedom that was purchased by the blood.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for the freedom from sin that I have in Christ Jesus. Holy Spirit, ground me in the written Word, so that in seeking your precepts I may be obedient to my Lord and Saviour all day loing. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
