Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)
September 14 2026
Text: Psalm 119:51
The arrogant mock me unmercifully, but I do not turn from your law.
Bullying seems to be running rampant in our culture today, especially among the teenagers and online. Persecution is another form of bullying. There are going to be those who just despise Christians. Jesus warned us of this. But here’s the Good News in spite of the bad news that people are going to hate us: as we stay in the Word and abide in the Lord, nothing is able to separate us from the love of Christ. We might be hurt, but our strength and courage come from being the Word with the living Word who is Jesus.
Our task, in light of mocking, teasing and persecution is to remain steadfast on the Lord and not turn from the Word. As we are able to do that, we can overcome anything and everything. To Him be all the glory.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for the strength that comes from your Word and from you that in my difficult situations helps me to stay steadfast in the truth and assures me of victory. As I surrender everything in the day to you. Be glorified in and through me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
