Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

Text: Psalm 119:30
I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws.
If one was to enjoy that board game, Monopoly, it would be helpful to be familiar with the rules of the game. And it would stand to reason, that in order to really enjoy the game and get everything out of it that one could, one would know the rules and play by the rules. The same principle applies for the Word of God. Except, we are not playing a game – we are engaged in life; life that has been given to us by God. And this life has rules, and the rules to life are all found in the Word of God – known as the Bible. To enjoy the life that the Lord has given us, we must be in the Word of God; to live by His rules. More we know the rules, the more we are going to enjoy the life He has privileged us with.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the life I have and for the life I have in Christ. By your Spirit, help me to enjoy this life by spending all the time necessary to learn your rules. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
