Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105)

Text: Psalm 18:2
“The Lord is my deliverer…”
When the people of God are overwhelmed by the “odds” of life – the Lord will deliver us. He will deliver us in such a way that only God can get the credit. When Moses and the Israelites were pressed in from behind by Pharoah and his armies – God parted the Red Sea. When Samson was surrounded by Philistines, the Spirit of the Lord came upon him and he slew 1000 Philistines with the jaw bone of an ass. When Daniel was surrounded by lions, the Lord closed the lions’ mouths. The Lord delivered each of them by His power. Our deliverer is the one who will deliver us when we are not able to. We simply just have to let the Lord do what He wants to do. And we must never try and take credit for what the Lord has done.
Prayer: Gracious Lord. Thank you for being my deliverer. Thank you for delivering from the power of sin. I thank you that no matter what might overwhelm me today, you are able to deliver. And for that I glorify your holy name. May all that I do today bring you glory. In your name I pray. Amen.
