Daily Light Devotional: “Your Word is a Lamp to my feet and a light to my path” Psalm 119:105

Text: Judges 7:7
The Lord told Gideon, “With these 300 men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hand. Let all the others go home.”
When Gideon first rallied the troops to stand against the Midianites, 32,000 gathered. But the Lord said there are too many because the temptation would be for the men to say – “My own strength has saved me”. Those who were afraid we allowed to go home. Now they had 22,000 men. There were still too many. They were then subjected to the drinking of the water test. Those who scooped the water into their mouths, were sent home. And those who lapped up the water stayed. 300 men remained. With only 300 men, only God could bring about victory.
We must always remember this point – God is never going to ask us to do something that we can do with our own strength and effort. No faith is required for that. But He will always require to do that which is beyond our imagination. He has given us power for that (Ephesians 3:20)
Prayer: Father, thank you that everything is possible with you – especially the assignments that you call us to perform. The greatest things you have called me to do is to become like Jesus. Fill me with that power that I can be like Him and bring glory to you in all things. I n Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
