Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)
October November 6 2026
Text: Psalm 119:90
Your faithfulness extends to every generation, as enduring as the earth you created.
Here is a familiar expression: “a man is as good as his word”. This expression is generally true, but when a man does one thing that is contradictory, his word has no value. When he does not follow through, his word is of no value and he is not trustworthy.
God’s Word, however, is reliable because He is reliable, because He is truth and true. He is unchanging and so is His Word. That’s why it extends from generation to generation. The Word of God is the character of God. That is why it endures as the earth. Actually, heaven and earth may pass away, but the Word of God endures forever. So why would we turn to anything else? Turn to the Word, eat the Word, digest the Word, absorb the Word and live the Word and you cannot be shaken.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for your Word that is reliable and enduring. I turn away from all forms and sources of wisdom and submit to the fullness of the wisdom of your Word. Be glorified in and through me today. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
