Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)
October 14 2026
Text: Psalm 119:73
Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands.
We were created for God. Before the fall, we can see that humans had the privilege of being created for communion with God, to be in community with God and to have communication with God. We were intended to have communication with God. Our sinful nature, however, made that impossible. Our minds were darkened (Ephesians 4:18) and were unable to be in communication with the Lord. However, when the Holy Spirit regenerated us, and caused us to be born again in Christ Jesus – our minds were illuminated with the light of Christ. Now we can read His Word and be in communication with Him. We were born again in Christ, and He wants to form us and make us into the image of Christ and this happens as we read the Word, understand the Word and obey the Word. Because we are now IN Christ, and He is IN us, its possible to have and enjoy that communication.
Do you have that kind of transforming communication with the Lord and His Word?
Prayer: Father God, thank you for creating me, and causing me to be born again so that I might know you, know your Word, know yours ways, and become like Jesus, obeying Him in all things. Continue to shape me and form me according to your Word, In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
