Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)
October 1 2026
Text: Psalm 119:64
The earth is filled with your love, Lord; teach me your decrees.
Today, let’s flip this verse around. “Lord, teach me your decrees” (your laws, your precepts etc.) that I might see you in creation all around me.” His love is greater than anything, and when we see the mountains, like scripture we can declare His love is higher than the mountains (Psalm 36:5). Furthermore, we can observe from creation that there are natural laws gravity, laws of nature in weather – and all of that reminds us that the Word of God contains the laws of Gods. The more we see and understand the laws of nature, the more comfortable we can become. The same is true of the laws of the Word of God. The more we know the laws of Word of God, the more we will understand the laws by which we should live. And that will always be to our benefit.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word. As I study the Word of God, may I become more aware of all the laws of nature that your Word points to and by your Word recognize your presence everywhere. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
