Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

Text: Hebrew 11:6
“And it is impossible to please God without faith.”
Faith. That is a huge word that had a huge impact on the 16th century Church, sparking the Protestant Reformation.
We are well versed in “we are saved by grace through faith”. This use of the word “faith” is in reference to trusting and believing. Trusting and believing that Jesus Chrsitr was crucified and raised from the dead. Faith is placing one’s truth and belief in Jesus.
However, there is another use of the word “faith”. And that has to do with loyalty. We talk about a dog being faithful. That’s about the dog’s loyalty. We can be faithful by being loyal. Matthew 25:21 and verse 23 says “well done good and faithful servant”. That’s about loyalty. And that is what pleases the Lord.
We have faith “in Jesus” for salvation and we are faithful/loyal to Jesus. That’s our witness to Him.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of faith by which I am saved by grace. And thank you for the power to be faithful and loyal to Jesus and itsincredible to think that this faith bring you joy. May that joy be overflowing today as I seek to be faithful in everything. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
