Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)
August 7 2026
Text: Psalm 119:25
I am laid low in the dust; preserve my life according to your word.
As Christians, we all know that there are times when things don’t go well. Think of Job and the terrible things he experienced. And think of Jonah and the terrible situation that he found himself in. Christians we experience the pain of life – when the bottom falls out and lays us out in the dust.
The Psalmist give us a clue as to how to overcome: by receiving life that come from the Word. And the only way that we can receive life from God’s Word is by reading it; reading it and reading it some more. By meditating on it and meditating on it some more. The Word of God has the power to lift us out of the dust that we find ourselves wallowing in. Stay in the Word.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I rejoice that when I find myself overwhelmed by the stuff of life, your Word still lifts me up. By your Word you lift me up and set my feet on solid ground. Thank you. Be glorified in and through me today. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
