Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

September 30 2026

Text: Psalm 119:63

I am a friend to all who fear you, to all who follow your precepts.

One of the greatest joys of the Holy Spirit is when that moment we are saved, we are connected to other believers. And we have the privilege of praying together, and reading the Bible together.  This is what happened to the Early Church in the Book of Acts. Whenever they had a chance, they would study the law and the prophets and when Paul’s letters came, they would study those. Not only was their friendship grounded in the Lord, but also in the Word. And this strengthened them together. This is why it is so important to study the Word together and to pray together. In our contemporary culture, this is difficult for us because we are ofterntoo preoccupied with just focusing on me, myself and I. We need to embrace the joy that comes from studying the Word together. How are you doing with reading and studying the Word with others.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the written Word. By your Spirit, help me to discover the joy of studying your Word with other believers. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
