Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

Text: Psalm 119:62

At midnight I rise to give you thanks for your righteous laws.

Many members of the body of Christ are suffering from malnutrition. As a resultthey are weak, anemic and completely unable to function as healthy children of God. And this is because they are not feeding on the Word of God. To be naturally healthy, we need three meals a day. Isn’t it interesting that the Word of God says that we should “meditate on the Word of God, day and night” (Psalm 1:2). But many are satisfied with one feeding of the Word on Sunday morning. We should be eating and digesting the Word of God as living bread all the time and whenever possible give thanks to the Lord for His Word. This is what the Psalmist does – he awakens at midnight ands seizes the opportunity to thanks the Lord for the Word. How are we doing?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your written Word that points me always to the living Word that is Jesus Christ. And as often, may I always be grateful to you for the Word. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
