Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)
October 22 2026
Text: Psalm 119:79
May those who fear you turn to me, those who understand your statutes.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). Those who fear the Lord recognize the value and validity of the Word of God, which is the source of Godly wisdom. The Psalmist is speaking of those who have this fear that leads to wisdom, fellowshipping with one who also has the fear and wisdom. They understand God’s statutes and want to share that with others. And the writer od this Psalm welcomes this – as all believers should. This is why it is significant that the believers didn’t just fellowship together, they shared the Word of God together and this strengthened them even more.
What about you? Do you gather with other believers to be in the Word? To Revel in the fear and wisdom of God? If not – why not?
Prayer: Father God, not only do I thank you for the privilege of your Word, but I also thank you for the privilege of being able to fellowship with those who have the same faith and fear. May I never forsake the gathering with your people. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
