Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a Lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

Text: Psalm 119:18
Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.
Many people complain that when they read the Bible, they can’t understand it. There is a reason for that. And that is: the inability to understand the things of the spirit is described in 1 Corinthians 2:14, which explains that a natural, unguided human mind cannot grasp spiritual truths because they are spiritually discerned. You have to have the Holy Spirit to understand the Word of God. And you receive the Holy Spirit by receiving Jesus Christ as Lord ands Saviour and being born again. Then you will have the mind to understand the Word and then the heart to believe it.
It is at this pointy that our verse for today becomes a daily prayer to have your eyes “opened” so you can behold the wondrous things of His Word.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, by the power of the Holy Spirit, open my eyes that I might see the wondrous of your Word and thereby live a life of glory for Jesus.
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
