Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)
October November 4 2026
Text: Psalm 119:88
In your unfailing love preserve my life, that I may obey the statutes of your mouth.
When we are under stress, we are just trying to survive. But the Psalmist in our verse today gives us an incredible perspective. He knows that according to God’s Word that His love is unfailing. And he makes this request – preserve my life so that I may obey your Word. The Psalmist isn’t content to survive the situation. He wants to be faithful and obedient to the point that when it happens again, he will remain faithful and obedient. The Psalmist know that yes, the Lord is loving and faithful, and its because he knows that the he will remain faithful. This is not a “get me out of my situation” cry. It’s an “I know you will get me out and I am going to remain faithful always”.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for your faithful love. And because you are faithful, I will seek to obey you at all times. Be glorified in and through my life today. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
