Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)
October 27 2026
Text: Psalm 119:82
My eyes fail, looking for your promise; I say, “When will you comfort me?”
There are times when our circumstances can be so overwhelming, that our eyes “fail” in their ability to see the promises of God at work. To overcome this we need to understand the faithfulness of God: when we cannot see Him at work around us, He is still there. When we cannot feel His presence with us in times of trouble, He is still with us. When we cannot understand what is going on, inspite of our faithfulness, He is still with us. The Psalmist know this because he ends this verse with the statement – “When will you comfort me?” Despite his circumstances, he knows God is faithful, and he doesn’t “will you comfort me?” No, he asks, “when will you comfort me?” That question is a statement of faith.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for always being faithful to your Word and to me. When I find myself floundering, make me faithful to your Word and keep me faithful to you. Be glorified in and through me today. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
