Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

This has been my practice; I obey your precepts.
The more we do something, the more ingrained it becomes. In learning to play basketball, it is very helpful to learn to shoot and score from any where on the basketball course. It takes practice and more practice to become good at it. And that is true for anything. And that is true also for the Word of Good. The more familiar we become with the Word of God, the easier it is to be obedient to the Word of God. This was true of the Israelites; they lost the scrolls of the Word and lost their way and eventually the homeland. We must stay in the Word in order to be obedient to the Word.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word. Help me to be faithful and diligent to stay in the Word to be obedient to your Word in order to bring you glory. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
