Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

Text: Psalm 119:57
You are my portion, Lord; I have promised to obey your words.
People today seem to be preoccupied with what they can get from life; get fromothers. This is true for Christians: what can God do for me? God is treated like a Santa Clause or a vending machine.
But here’s the irony. The Psalmist say that “the Lord is my portion”. This means that the Lord is our inheritance. This means that He has already made every provision for us. But that provision is conditional – it requires our humility. Humility means being in the Word of God, digesting the Word of God, obeying the Word of God. Too often we are to proud and bratty before God and that cuts us off from all that He has for us.
How about you, are you operating from a place of entitlement or from a place of humility.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for all the provisions you have in store for me. Empower me by the Holy Spirit that I might remain in your Word and be obedient to you in all things. Be glorified in an through me today. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
