Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

Text: Psalm 119:60
I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands.
In John 10:27 Jesus said – “my sheep know my voice and will follow me.” The “following” of Jesus is an indication of the sheep’s obedience. Jesus also said in John 14:15 – “if you love me keep my commands”. In Matthew 21:28-32 Jesus tells the parable of the father who ask his two sons to do something. The first son says no, but later agrees to do it, The second son say he will, but her doesn’t. Who is the better son? The one who did eventually do what the father asked. All this to say that a true follower of Jesus Chrsitr, is quick to be in the Word, is constant in the Word, and is quick to obey the Word.
What about you? Are you quick to obey the Word; obey His commands? If you are, then that means your take Him and His word seriously. That means you are living to please the Lord. If you are not, you are seeking to please yourself.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the written Word, that helps me to grow in my knowledge of the Living Word, Jesus. Holy Spirit help me to be quick to hear the Word and quick to obey the Word – all to the glory of God. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
