Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

Text: Psalm 119:61
Though the wicked bind me with ropes, I will not forget your law.
It is interesting to note that when Paul wrote his letter to the believers in Ephesus (His letter to the Ephesians), he was a prisoner in Rome. And this was not the first time that he was imprisoned. Even though the wicked had him “bound with ropes”, he continued to meditate on the Word of God and was able to encourage the believers about the living Word – Jesus.
Most persecuted Christians will testify that by meditating upon the scriptures they received strength and courage to face their tormentors even though they too were bound with roped.
Paul and the persecuted did not allow their negative circumstances to keep them from the focusing on the Word. Nothing would ever keep them from remembering the Word. They would never forget.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the Word that gives me hope, strength and courage. Holy Spirit enable me to never forgot the Word of God. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
