Daily Light Devotional: Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105).

Text: John 20:25
They told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he replied, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side.”
One day when Jesus revealed Himself to His disciples, Thomas was not with the disciples. When Thomas did show up, the other disciples said – “We have seen theLord!” Thomas, however, said he wouldn’t believe “unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them and place my hand into the wound his side”. Now before dismissing Thomas, note that first, He wants to believe and second, He wants evidence. Thomas is no different than anyone else. People want to believe.
Think about all the people you know who are not believers and have the same attitude as Thomas. Now think about this: Jesus responded to Thomas’ need for evidence. Thomas had a personal encounter with Jesus. The people we know who are not believers, need to have their own personal encounter with Jesus. And this exactly how we need to be praying for them – that they have a one-to-one encounter with the risen Lord. Then they will believe. Thomas would go on to have an incredible evangelistic work in India.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for revealing yourself to Thomas. Please reveal yourself to the people in my life who do not know you. Reveal yourself to them so that they become your followers, living their lives for you.In Jesus’ Nme I pray. Amen.
