Text: Joshua 1:6
“Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.”
In Joshua 1, Joshua inherits the leadership of the nation of Israel. He inherited that assignment from Moses, who had just died. That is a huge assignment, bigger than Moses’ shoes. To encourage Joshua, the Lord saif to Joshua – “be strong and courageous”. The Lord said that because prior to that He said – “I will be with you as I was with Moses.”
This is the Good News for us – the Lord who dwells within us, is always with us, so no matter what they assignment is – we can be strong and courageous. Commit your way to the Lord and watch things fall into place.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for coming into my life. I commit all that I am to you and to the assignment that you want to accomplish through me. Because of your promise, I can be strong and courageous; I can be confident and victorious in all things. Thank you. Be glorified in and through me this day. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
